Innovative New Digital Platform for Onboard Wi-Fi is Being Introduced by Delta Air Lines
This new onboard offering's impending debut was initially revealed at CES 2023. The airline has now revealed the simultaneous debut of "Delta Sync Exclusives," which it has dubbed the "curated front page" of the passenger's onboard experience.
Delta started testing the mobile platform in late April by putting Delta Sync on a small number of domestic U.S. flight aircraft. After the pilot program is finished, the airline intends to upgrade over 540 of its planes by the end of July with Delta Sync Exclusives material supported by quick, free Wi-Fi. By the end of the year, the carrier will install the platform on over 700 of its domestic mainline aircraft, and by the end of 2024, it wants to have done the same for its entire worldwide fleet. Passengers will arrive at the 'My Exclusives' page after connecting to the onboard Wi-Fi service,
where they will see a curated selection of thumbnails leading to activities, entertainment, and special deals from well-known brands. Additionally, they may use the browser-based platform to access the 'My Trip' tab and watch motivational content outlining what they can expect once they get to their destination as well as some essential details regarding their route. By doing this, Delta will contribute to a distinctive linking of the digital and physical aspects of their travels to improve the travel experience.
When Delta Sync Exclusives first go on sale, visitors will be able to:
- Enjoy a free trial of the Paramount+ streaming media service and its entire content library, which is accessible on your mobile device and includes original TV shows, well-known films, news, and live sports.
- Play their preferred New York Times Games, which include the difficult word, number, and logic puzzles like Wordle, Sudoku, Mini Crossword, and others.
- Investigate exceptional offers made available just to Delta customers by renowned businesses like T-Mobile and American Express, as well as upcoming premium brand partners for the Delta experience.
- Resy allows users to book a seat at a nearby restaurant after looking through specially crafted meal suggestions for their location (on some routes).
- With motivational writing and video material, online publisher and travel brand Atlas Obscura helps travelers become excited about their trip.
- Utilise well-known self-service tools, resources, and Delta insights to complement your experience in real-time.
